Library Services

  • Orientation: Conduct of the physical organization of the library, content of a library card catalog and other bibliographical records, hours of service, services offered, and where to go for assistance.


  • Library Instruction: Students are given instructions on the general use of the library and for research purposes as well.


  • Reference Service: Answering simple reference questions, compiling bibliographies, locating simple bibliographical information, assisting reader to locate and select books.


  • Readers Advisory Services: When library users do not know the specific topic and/or material they want to read, the College Librarian suggests specific titles and subject headings which coincide with their particular interest.


  • I & R (Information and Referral Service): Guidance and assistance are provided to clientele who will use library resources and referrals are also rendered to appropriate agency to an appropriate agency.


  • Current Awareness Services: These services focus on the dissemination of information that will keep its library clientele well-informed and up-to-date in their fields of basic interest as well as in related subjects.


  1. Bulletin of New acquisitions: This is to inform the library clientele about the new acquisitions in the library.
  2. Document Delivery Service: This is about providing requested article or book chapter to library clientele by means of photocopying the materials.


  • Indexing: Periodicals, magazines, and newspapers provide the best source of up-to-date information. Articles from these materials are indexed alphabetically by subject and author. Each article entry includes the (1) title, (2) author, (3) name of the magazine or periodical, (4) volume, and (5) number, (6) pages on which the articles appear, and (7) date of the magazine or periodical.


  • Internet Services: There are three computer units intended for library users that can be used for surfing the Internet and accessing CD-ROMs. The request for two additional computer units was already approved to accommodate more users for academic, research, and other related needs.
